he Chinese call it Long River, or sometimes just Great River. Whatever you call it, the Yangzi is still the world's third longest watercourse, snaking 6,300 from Tibet to the East China Sea. A few hundred kilometres from its source, the river runs through one of the world's deepest gorges, so narrow in places, legend tells, a tiger once escaped capture by leaping the gap. Walking through Tiger Leaping Gorge, you can almost believe it.
