We celebrate Christmas early. God had other plans for December 25 but Mary's donkey ride into Bethlehem induced premature labour. Or so you will believe after riding a biblical beast of burden into history. Cantering through a rosy Nile Valley dawn makes you feel like one of the Magnificent Seven. T-r-o-t-t-i-n-g shakes loose images of God frantically seeking three wise men ahead of schedule. Even so, a trotting donkey is better than a taxi ride to the Valley of the Kings.
