Your good ship, the flower I trow of all ships that ever sailed", so was praised the Mary Rose in a letter to Henry VIII after the successful French campaign of 1513. Thirty-two years later, the pride of the English fleet sailed against the French for the last time. Recovered 400 years after she sank going into battle, Henry VIII's flagship yielded a treasure-trove of Tudor artefacts now on show at Portsmouth Naval Museum.
