Face to Face with Death
Bones crunch in the afternoon hush. No birds sing. Nor insects buzz. Paws move soundlessly as the leopard shifts her kill. We are close enough to see the blood on her whiskers. Almost within reach of her tail dangling from the tree like a thick velvet bell cord. Londolozi Private Game Reserve is renowned for its leopards. In few other places do these normally elusive animals allow vehicles close enough to give passengers goosebumps.
