Anasazi Odyssey
Melanie Ball  in Southwest America
Southwest America's Anasazi National Parks Centuries before the cultural clashes that created Hollywood's Wild West, native Americans were irrigating crops and constructing multistorey masonry buildings. They were the Anasazi, and they occupied what is now the Four Corners region. Anasazi is a Navajo word popularly translated as "ancient ones". No-one knows what they called themselves. Or why they abandoned their signature high-rise to time and tourists. The many unknowns have intrigued people for a hundred and fifty years.
